Cooper Tire & Rubber Foundation

The Cooper Tire Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Cooper Tire & Rubber Company. The Foundation is proud to focus on youth career development, education, and local community giving in the locations where Cooper has major facilities.

Dream It. Do It.Cooper participates in this national (U.S.) program designed to encourage youth to consider careers in manufacturing, addressing the widening gap in the nation’s workforce pipeline. Over the past five years, Cooper has reached tens of thousands of students through its “Dream Team,” a group of early-career employees from our major facilities, who facilitate Manufacturing Experience events in our U.S. plant communities.  To learn more about opportunities for Dream Team members to discuss careers in manufacturing with your school or organization, email Community Relations at [email protected].

Centennial ScholarshipThe Foundation has established two scholarship funds to provide financial assistance to the children of Cooper Tire employees in the United States who are pursuing additional education following the completion of high school. Both scholarships are awarded to students who meet application criteria and are selected by an independent review committee for the awards. The Centennial Scholarship was established in 2014 in recognition of the company’s 100th anniversary. Winners of this scholarship are the children of Cooper employees who intend to pursue careers related to manufacturing and are pursuing their studies following high school at a technical college, community college or university. The Roy V. Armes Scholarship was established in 2016 in recognition of the contributions of former Cooper Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President Roy Armes. Like the Centennial Scholarship, winners of this scholarship are the children of Cooper employees, but in the case of this particular award, they are going on to study engineering or business at a four-year college or university.

Corporate GivingCooper Tire, its Foundation and its employees have a long-standing tradition of donating significant resources – financial, in-kind, and time - to improving the quality of life in local communities where employees live and work. One organization that receives Foundation and employee giving is the United Way. The United Way provides assistance to many individual non-profit groups doing important work in our communities. The United Way is our primary employee giving and focused local cause in communities where Cooper has major facilities.
